  7. Apple adds ‘Designed for iOS 7’ section to its App Store

Apple has gone the full hog and radically changed the look of iOS in iOS 7, as we've talked about already in our overview and review articles about the new mobile operating system. Apple had been adamant in following skeumorphic design principles in iOS so far, with faux leather, wood and metal being the predominant visual flourishes in its UI. Most apps followed suit, and Apple iOS apps tended to have curved and shiny interfaces in general.   iOS 7 has changed all that dramatically, and in response, quite a few apps have adopted the new design guidelines for the OS already. Apple in turn has added a ‘Designed for iOS 7’ section in its App Store for users to easily discover the major apps that have received the redesign after the iOS launch. Read on below the break to know more about it.               Continue reading →
  8. Which iOS 7 features will your current Apple device get?

Unlike Android, Apple has consciously avoided fragmentation issues with its older devices by almost always making every version of iOS available for device models released in at least 3 years prior to the launch of a new iOS version. However, there tend to always be some cutting edge features and trinkets that tend to be glossed over when offering OS updates to older devices. With the iOS 7 launch for the public just a few months away, read on to know if your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad is getting long in the tooth below the break!               [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="via Gizmodo"][/caption]   Continue reading →

  10. Original ‘Angry Birds’ game goes free for both the iPhone and the iPad for the very first time

Angry Birds is a game that has caught the imagination of hundreds of millions of people worldwide. It has gone from being a simple game released by a struggling independent game developer called Rovio into a massive corporation, and the game itself has turned into a big franchise in itself. But what’s most amazing is the fact that Rovio had never made the original Angry Birds game free for even a limited period of time (as most developers choose to during festive times), and it still managed to be the most downloaded game of all time. Now, Appsfire has managed to reveal that Angry Birds for the iPhone and Angry Birds HD for the iPad really has gone free at long last after all!       Continue reading →
