There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, aimed at people who feel the Galaxy S4 is just too big. So far, there has been no official confirmation from Samsung to prove that the device even exists. All we had up until this point were some leaked images and rumors, but the appearance of the handset on company’s website has confirmed the existence of Galaxy S4 Mini and its imminent summer release.

The handset was accidentally listed on Samsung’s app store with the model number GT-I9195 and was taken down soon afterwards. The handset looks quite similar to its larger counterpart, but has a slightly reduced spec sheet to reduce the cost. Powered by a 1.6 GHz Exynos dual core processor, the Galaxy S4 mini will have an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The 4.3 inch screen is expected to be a 256 ppi density Super AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 540x960 pixels.

The S4 Mini is clearly geared towards banking on the remarkable success of the Galaxy S4, which has been declared to be Samsung’s fastest selling cellphone ever, with over 10 million units already sold. a cheaper version of Galaxy S4 is expected to be highly successful. Samsung might launch this device in July, well ahead of Apple’s fall event, but since there has been no confirmation so far, we can only speculate.
