Classic arcade game Pac Man is Apple’s latest App of the Week

It is probably safe to say that Pac Man is a staple of almost everyone’s childhood. Apple is helping with the whole nostalgia about it by making it the latest App of the Week in the App Store. This means, as we’ve talked about in our previous coverage about the scheme, that the Pac Man game will be free to download for everyone with an Apple device and an internet connection for the next one week. Read on to know more about it.
Namco were the creators of the classic game back in the 80s, and they’re the devs in the App Store as well. If you don’t have an idea about how to play the game, that isn’t a problem either. It goes like this - you navigate Pac Man to eat pellets and fruit, all while you avoid the very conspicuous ghosts moving all over the maze. The original and classic maze is obviously a part of the iOS game as well, and this modern version offers eight extra mazes that have bonus modes with no ghosts in them, for you to play endlessly to your heart’s content. There are two control schemes – simple swipe based ones, or with a virtual joystick. There are 3 difficulty levels as well. Pac Man has been around in the App Store for a while now, and has been priced as expensive as $6.99 sometimes.
