The 2 best calendar apps for iOS
This entry was posted on Monday, January 13, 2014.
Calendar apps are a dime a dozen in the App Store, but how many of them manage to find that key balance between form and function? Plenty of iOS calendar apps happen to either be bare bones and ugly, or pretty and unusable for the most part, but there certainly are some apps which get it all right. Read on to know more about two such apps that will certainly change your life for the better.
Fantastical 2 Calendar and Reminders (iPhone) - $1.99
Fantastical 2 is currently on a 60% holiday discount, with a price of $1.99 in the App Store. This app has its origins as an app for OS X computers, and has been wildly popular in the App Store since its launch in 2012. In fact, it is still the only calendar app that managed to actually top App Store download charts. It is quite the looker as well, with a beautiful interpretation of the iOS 7 app design guidelines being a particular highlight. It can automatically sync events, reminders, alerts and tasks with the Background Refresh feature in iOS 7 as well.
Sunrise Calendar 2 (iPhone/iPad) – Free
It starts off with a main view displaying the upcoming events in the next 2 weeks, and a list view below it. It can actually judge the context of your events and tasks and put a relevant icon beside them. You can invite other people for events as well in your calendar, and it’s made especially easy by Sunrise. Even your friends’ birthdays from social media are pulled in and displayed inside the app, should you choose to do so.
