Yet another Samsung smartphone has been officially unveiled by T-Mobile recently. Samsung Galaxy Light is an entry level Android 4.2.2 smartphone, which is not too different from the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, as far as specs are concerned. The announcement comes as no suprise because this device had already been leaked by evleaks a couple of days ago and was named as the "Garda".
Galaxy Light is LTE enabled, therefore its likely to have a quad core Snapdragon 200/400 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. The phone will run Android 4.2.2 out of the box and should be upgradable to Android 4.3. Other specs are nothing to be too excited about, which is bound to keep the price quite low. The display is a WVGA screen with 400x800 resolution and a size of 4 inches. The perfomance of the device should be snappy considering it has a quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM.
Galaxy Light will have a 5 MP rear camera and a 1800 mAh battery. The device will have 8 GB internal storage and there is a microSD card slot which can be used to expand the available storage space. As of now, T-Mobile has not released any information about the pricing of the phone or about the launch date, but its clear that with this device, T-Mobile will be directly competing with AT&T's Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, which was recently announced. Both phones have a similar spec sheet, hence the pricing shouldn't be too different.
