Twitter has strangely avoided making an optimized app for Android tablets for a long time now, and that has been one of the biggest sticks that Android bashers have used to criticize it as a viable platform for tablets.
There didn’t seem to be any particular reason for it as such, and even the popularity of Android tablets like the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD seemed to not convince it to take the plunge.
Now, Samsung may have just used its own clout to get a Twitter app made especially for its just launched Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet, as the Note seems to have a Twitter app with an iPad-like interface, rather than the blown up phone app that Android tablets needed to rely on so far. While the likes of TweetCaster have managed to make the most of the absence of Twitter’s own app in the Android tablet ecosystem in the recent past, there won’t be any dearth of people looking for the authentic Twitter experience from an official app on their tablets. While this current version seems to only work well on 10” tabs, it is certainly a step in the right direction.
