Report: An even cheaper version of the iPad Mini to roll out next year along with an iPad Mini with Retina display?

The rumors related to the iPad Mini seem to make an unreal number of about turns, with there being rumors about a new iPad Mini to be launching this year coming out first, followed by rumors about the Mini with a Retina display, followed by one where the Retina display seemed to be causing Apple's partners severe production issues, to it being pushed to next year, according to most accounts. The latest rumor, sourced from a well known Apple-focused analyst, seems to indicate that Apple will push the Retina iPad Mini 2 to 2014 after all, but Apple will be getting a low cost variant of the Mini out at the same time. Read on below the break to know more!
Kuo Ming-Chi, an analyst of KGI Securities, said in a research note this week that March or April 2014 would see two new iPad mini models. The low cost Mini wouldn't be able to get a sales launch until December at the earliest, according to the note, to boot.
Apple has never been a company to compromise on its design or production values when creating a product. However, as tablets get more ubiquitous, and more and more quality low cost alternatives to the iPad Mini (such as the 2nd gen Nexus 7) get rolled out every few months, there is bound to be a plateau for consumer demand somewhere, and Apple may just be trying to subvert that and get their fingers into the low end market pie as well.
