Samsung is no stranger to launching an absolute legion of new tablets and smartphones every year, but the Galaxy Tab series tends to get a special mention always due to it being one of the most mainstream titles in the Android tablet market. However, the two versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 have proved to be one of the worst kept secrets in the industry for quite some time, as Samsung has just officially announced the forthcoming launch of the Galaxy Tab 3 8 and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and pegged it to be out by the end of this month. Read on to know more about the two tablets below the break.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 has a 1.5 Ghz dual core processor (of unspecified make, but expected to be one from Intel), 1.5GB of RAM, and 16 GB / 32 GB of expandable memory. The Tab 3 8 has a 5 MP main camera and a 1.3 MP front shooter. As its name suggests, the Tab 3 8 has an 8 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It has a standard 4,450 mAh battery, an Infrared blaster, and the very latest Android 4.2.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, on the other hand, has a 1.6Ghz dual core CPU, with a main camera of 3MP, RAM of 1GB, 16 GB / 32 GB of memory, a 10.1 inch LCD screen with the same resolution as the Tab 3 8, a 6,800mAh battery, and Android 4.2 again.
Both of the new Tab 3 slates are available in Wifi-only, as well as Wifi+3G/4G variants. While Samsung didn’t end up revealing an exact launch date, it will be out by the end of June (this month).
