A lot of rumors have been flying about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. It has been widely speculated that 3 different models of Tab 3 are in the making, all having different screen sizes. The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, which will have a 7 inch screen, received its FCC certification a couple of weeks ago. Now the rumors about the existence of an 8 inch tablet named Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 have been substantiated as Samsung has applied for FCC certification for this tablet as well.
The only officially confirmed facts are that the 8.0 tablet will have 16 GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This tablet will be made available in two different models; one will be Wi-Fi only and the other with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. It is being speculated that the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will have 1.5 GHz, dual core processor and a screen with a resolution of 1280x800. The device will pack 1.5 GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel main camera, and a 1.3 pixel front facing camera. Specs of this tablet are therefore considerably better than the previous Galaxy Tabs.
The software running on this device will be Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) and the battery capacity is rumored to be 4,500 mAh , which should help alleviate the battery issues. There has been no confirmation of a launch date, but it is expected to be launched during June of this year. The 10 inch tablet is also expected to be unveiled at the same event.
