Yahoo! Launches new Mail & Weather app for the iPhone and iPad

Yahoo! has just launched two new apps for iOS devices. The first is a much needed refresh of its iOS mail app, which has now been turned into a universal app for both the iPhone and iPad. The second is its weather app, which is a rather beautiful standalone app that also has a lot of substance to go with its style.
The new Yahoo! mail app is geared more towards tablets in terms of the kinds of changes that this version brings to the table. There is a full screen Reading Mode that allows users to view emails with photos, newsletters and shared articles on to the full screen at just one tap.
Mail organization is a lot easier as well with the new mail app, as it groups emails by sender whenever you select an email in your inbox.
All in all, it seems to be a pretty decent mail app at the very least, and the only hitch might be that Yahoo! is nowhere near as big a mail service as it used to be in the pre-iPhone / iPad era.
The Yahoo! weather app is a more ambitious attempt made by the Marissa Mayer-led company to get back into consumers’ good graces, and it has some amazing photos and icons that describe the weather rather comprehensively.
You can get the new Yahoo! Mail app for your iPhone or iPad from the App Store here. The Weather app is only optimized for iPhones, and the App Store link for that is this. It goes without saying that both Yahoo! apps are completely free of cost.
