iPad Mini 2 with Retina Display coming in Q3 2013?

Chinese website CNYes has reported that Apple may be just a few months away from launching an update to its extra portable tablet - the iPad Mini. The 7.9 inch tablet has drawn huge sales figures and rave reviews for its price and most of its features, save one: its display. However, the iPad Mini 2 is expected to be a huge improvement on that front, as it is expected to have a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. In other words, the iPad Mini 2 will have a Retina Display, and a presumably faster processor at the very least.
According to the report, the sales of the iPad Mini are going on at a fairly speedy clip, and Apple expects them to go on in that vein in 2013, as there are shipment targets of 55 million units. In the meanwhile, the targets for the larger 9.7 inch iPads are being slashed, ending up being almost halved from 60 million to 33 million.
The report went on to discuss the fifth generation iPad as well, expecting it to have a design akin to the iPad Mini. The chassis is expected to be made of an aluminium alloy metal, but with a thinner bezel and lighter than before.
As for the update on the iPad Mini, it goes without saying that with the way tablet screens have been cramming in more and more pixels, the pixel densities have started reaching outrageous levels. The rumored updated to the Android based Google Nexus 7 is expected to launch in Q2 this year with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and the iPad Mini is Apple's way of keeping up with the pack - by beating the pack outright!
