Free app of the week: Infinity Blade
This entry was posted on Saturday, February 16, 2013.
For the first time ever, the highly successful role playing game on the App store is available free of cost. The award winning game first came out in 2010, and was an instant hit. Infinity Blade was the first mobile game to make use of the Unreal Engine 3, which gives a huge boost to the game graphics.
The story in Infinity Blade is told through a series of one on one battles against various foes. The player does not have much say in deciding where to go or what to do next as the sequence of events has pretty much been predefined. The ultimate goal of the game is to defeat the immortal God King in a one on one battle.
The game difficulty keeps on increasing with each battle, and the player receives XP and gold from each victory. The XP is used to level up health, damage, armor and magic of the player, while the gold can be used to purchase better weapons and armor. Although the gameplay may seem to be repetitive, there is a lot of depth in it. Each battle is different and needs a different strategy to win. Apart from a sword and a shield, the player can also use magic to bend the battle in his favor.
Infinity Blade was originally priced at $5.99 and is free for this week only. It’s a must have for all iPhone gamers and guarantees hours of entertainment.
