Next gen Apple iOS devices coming on September 12th?

The folks at Apple Inc. are no strangers to feverish expectations when it comes to devices that they are about to launch. But the hype and hoopla becomes something else entirely when the predominant rumor among industry watchers is that Apple has a whole host of next generation devices up for an impending launch. The devices in question are the sixth iPhone (or iPhone 5, as it seems to be popularly known), the iPad Mini, and the new iPod Nano. According to the latest set of rumors, Apple plans to launch them on the 12th of September, and release at least the iPhone less than 10 days later, on the 21st of September.

iMore claims that Apple has a special event planned for the 12th of September, with the headlining announcement being the launch of the new iPhone. There isn’t as much known about the other Apple devices though, but iMore has reason to believe that they’ll be launching on the same day.  Moreover, it claims that iOS 6 will be coinciding with the public release of the iPhone. It remains to be seen whether Apple chooses to add in a hardware specific USP as an iOS feature this time.

The intense level of expectations and hype surrounding the iPhone 5 has ended up hitting Apple Inc. quite hard too, with its sales estimates being missed by more than ten million units. The popular opinion was that the buying public was putting off purchasing a phone that was on its last legs before its role as the top Apple smartphone got usurped. Even Tim Cook admitted as much soon after the Apple Q2 debacle. In that context, the September 12 event can’t come soon enough for the Cupertino company.
