AT&T To Unblock Third Party Android App Stores

If you have been an Android user on AT&T and own a handset sold by them, chances are high that your phone would not be allowed to download apps from any other place but the Android Market. This, if you are not aware, was a decision made by AT&T to save people from installing malicious and unsafe apps on their devices.
However, the idea seem to have backfired as people started complaining about this limiting block. In fact, people preferred rooting their devices to gain full access and by pass the AT&T block. Well, all this is set to change now though if we are to believe a recent report
In an interview with a leading publication, AT&T’s senior vice president of mobile devices, Jeff Bradley announced that they would no longer block people from installing software from non-Android Market stores. In fact, an upcoming device on AT&T, the Samsung Infuse 4G being will be able to install Apps from external sources- a fact that has been already confirmed. Now , all AT&T users want from AT&T is an update that would fix the same issue on all those older handsets.
