Time for yet another iPad 2 related rumor. Japanese blog Macotakara -which has had a good record of revealing unreleased Apple products and upcoming launches has reported that Apple is likely to hold an event sometime in March 2011 where they will announce the iPad 2.
While we all know that Apple is planning to announce the iPad 2 soon, there is still no clarity regarding a possible launch date. The blog also adds that the March event would be just an announcement and that the first shipments would only begin a few weeks later.
In another set of rumors, folks over at iLounge are reporting about the possibility of the iPhone 5 and the iPad 2 both getting embedded NFC chips. These chips would enable the devices to make quick monetary transactions whilst on the move and make the iPhone (and the iPad) act like electronic wallets. While we already knew about this possibility, one more source reporting about it would obviously make the rumor sound more credible.
There is also a talk of the upcoming iPad using carbon fiber enclosures to make the device tougher and lighter than the existing device. This though sounds more of a rumor than a possibility because carbon fiber is known to make devices prohibitively expensive. But what if Apple could pull this one off? Lets wait and watch!
