No CDMA iPhone At CES Afterall

Looks like the much touted rumoured launch of the iPhone 4 isn’t happening at the CES. Instead, Verizon would be concentrating on a bunch of new Android based CDMA devices at the event. In an invite issued by the Verizon, it has confirmed that on January 6, post the keynote by the company’s CEO, it would be holding a news conference/webcast during which these Android devices would be showcased. Many had thought that the Verizo event at CES wold be that of the launch of the CDMA iPhone.
It is now highly likely that we will see the launch of the CDMA iPhone after the CES in a separate event. It is also speculated that the CDMA iPhone would now be launched along with the iPad 2 – which is also rumored to get a CDMA version. In fact, wouldn’t it make sense to launch these two CDMA devices together? If that does turn out to be the case we might have to wait till February when Apple is largely believed to announce the iPad 2.
As for the Android devices to eb showcased, it is now thought tat the new bunch of 4G Android devices would include Motorola’s recently talked about tablet and of course the HTC Thunderbolt – a 4G device specific to Verizon.
When do you think will the CDMA iPhone be officially announced by Apple? Do you see it happening in the first quarter of 2011?
