Good news for all you Xperia X8 users out there! Sony Ericsson has confirmed that it would be releasing an Android 2.2 update to its mid range Android handset – the Xperia X8 by the end of 2010. While this has yet to come out officially through Sony Ericsson, a senior official has confirmed this to folks over at PC World.
This news comes just days after Sony Ericsson started rolling out updates to its Xperia X10 range of handsets. All these handsets have been until now running Android 1.6 and the update to 2.1 would be a welcome change. That said, with most other manufacturers already on Android 2.2, it is not long before Sony Ericsson’s Android phones become outdated again.
