Next Generation iPad To Get Five New Features
Just as the year draws to a close we have started hearing rumors about the next generation iPad – which is largely thought to arrive in the first quarter of 2011. The first generation iPad as you might be aware was released earlier this year and has since then went on to become the most popular tablet ever.
That said, Apple has just started facing considerable competition from manufacturers like Samsung and RIM who have prepped their own tablets to counter the threat of the iPad. Apple would need a decent product to compete with these new crop of tablets and looks like the iPad 2 would indeed turn out to be once such product.
A Chinese newspaper is reporting that the next gen iPad would feature as many as five entirely new features that would make the device contemporary and competitive to the new crop of tablets.
The new features include
- Video phone
- A new display technology,
- 3-axis gyroscope,
- Better mobility, and
- USB support
What this could possibly mean is that the next gen iPad would get dual camera’s , possibly the iPhone 4′s retina display technology and an overall decrease in dimensions – keeping the same screen size. Also, along with the dock connector, there would also be a microUSB port – which is a welcome addition.
