A senior LG official has been quoted saying that the company is working on an Android powered tablet. This tablet, which is likely to be pitted against the Galaxy Tab from arch rival Samsung would be available starting the first quarter of 2011 – which is not that far away if you notice.
This product would be known as the LG Optimus Pad and would come with an 8.9 inch display – which is larger than that of the Galaxy Tab while being a tad smaller than that of the Apple iPad. This will also run Google’s Tablet specific Honeycomb version of Android OS.
It is likely to run Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor which is a dual core processor. Nothing more apart from these sketchy details are known so far.
Lets wait till Q1, 2011 to see how this offering from LG ends up!
