Apple Acknowledges Daylight Saving Time Bug
Apple has now officially acknowledged the presence of a bug in iOS 4.2 days after the second instance people being troubled by mistimed alarms
caused mini panic of sorts in Europe
The company has posted a new support document
that acknowledges the issue on iOS 4.1. If that wasn’t all, they have given the (already known) fix to the issue. Apple recommends users to set their alarms manually – instead of choosing the repeat alarm function to temporarily fix the issue.
Note that this bug sprouts in to prominence just a few times in a year and that too in select countries. With the US inching to come out of DST on November 7, Apple is urging people to manually fix the bug.
The iOS 4.2 update too is due very soon that would for once and for all, resolve this.
