Aha. so what do we have here! Folks over at BoyGeniusReport are reporting that one of their trusted sources has confided to them about the fact that Apple is on the verge of wrapping up its field tests on the CDMA version of the iPhone that is rumored to be heading towards Verizon.
Apparently, the CDMA iPhone, which is internally known as the iPhone 3,2 has completed most of its tests and has entered a stage known as “AP”. This stage is right before the launch of a product and usually has the final hardware and software features that the final version would come with.
Interestingly, this iPhone 3,2 will come with a SIM card slot – which could possible mean two things. This is just a mid term product update that fixes the “antennagate” issue. No CDMA version. The other probability would be a hybrid CDMA+GSM model which can use GSM SIM cards as your CDMA iPhone would be useless globally. (mostly).
The tipster also revealed that Apple is already working on the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5 and that it has reached a developmental stage known as EVT (Engineering Verification Test)
No need to get excited though – it could be a while before we would see a leaked photo of this one!
