I’m a Mac, iPhone 4 and an iPad user. In other words, I’m an Apple-head. I love unified mailbox because it allows me to read all of my messages in one pane without having to navigate back and forth between my e-mail accounts on my device. There is a major issue for me with the unified mailbox though…
E-mails play an important role in my daily life. I have several different email accounts. I have two e-mail accounts for work, two personal e-mail accounts for friends and family, and one personal e-mail account for online purchases and subscriptions.
The e-mail account that I use for online shopping and for subscribing on various websites receives approx. 80-100 junk and unnecessary emails per day. Say I’m on the train and want to browse through my emails. If I use unified mailbox, I would spend half of the time trying to pick out the important emails through the junk and unnecessary ones.
It would really be great if I was able to exclude an e-mail account from the unified inbox. In that case, I would exclude the e-mail address that I use for online shopping and subscriptions from the unified mailbox.
Another good customization option for the unified mailbox would be the ability to custom color the e-mails per e-mail account. For instance, my work emails could have red subject line, personal e-mails could have green subject line and the unimportant emails could have blue subject line.
Wouldn’t that be great?
